What is social prescribing?
Everyone needs a little help from time to time, social prescribing can support you to connect to your community.
Social prescribing can help us with things that can’t be fixed by doctors and medicine alone. Everyone needs a bit of help from time to time. Social prescribing is a way of helping you cope with the things in your life that may be making you feel unhappy, worried, or isolated.
This non-medical service is designed to put people in touch with services, groups and activities in the local community to help improve wellbeing.
What can I expect if I refer myself?
A social prescriber will give you a telephone call to introduce themselves and to arrange an initial appointment. Your social prescriber will discuss what matters to you, this can be through the telephone, face to face, in the community or in your home.
Available to residents over the age of 18.
