Five ways to winter wellness timetable

As the temperatures fall and we settle into winter, it is even more important to look after our health.

To support residents, in partnership with the community winter hubs initiative, we have launched the Five Ways to Winter Wellness campaign, providing a variety of free activities across the season to support your wellbeing.

All sessions are free to attend and are led by qualified instructors. The activities will be in the community winter hubs across the borough which include Bracknell Forest libraries and the Bracknell Forest Community Hub.

If you are unable to attend the scheduled activities, you can still pop into a winter hub which provides a warm, safe, and sociable space for those who need it. The full opening times and locations for the community winter hubs is available online. 

What do the activities cover?

Drug and alcohol support Meet the New Hope team and find out how they can support you to reduce your alcohol intake.
Energy efficiency  How to save energy and insulate your home.
Falls prevention A chat on falls, why they happen and how to prevent them. Followed by a prevention exercise session to help with strength, mobility, and balance.
Fire safety Fire risks in the home and what you can do to reduce risk.
Five ways to wellbeing Discover ways to support your wellbeing using the Five Ways to Wellbeing.
Mental wellbeing with Stepping Stones Recovery College Find out about Stepping Stones offers, what course might be suitable for you and where you can access help.
Happiness Hub Meet the Happiness Hub at their monthly coffee morning and chat to the team about how they can support your wellbeing
Nutrition workshop with Everyone Health Suitable for the whole family. Covers everything from cooking on a budget, sugar, fat and healthy snacking.
Social prescribing Meet our social prescribers to find out what they do and how they can support your wellbeing.
Stop smoking Meet a Smokefreelife Berkshire advisor and find out how they can support you to quit smoking.
Tai chi Gentle tai chi, suitable for beginners
Winter walks for wellness A series of walks in local parks and green spaces, making use of the network of footpaths in the town. Each walk is about 40 minutes and suitable for beginners. Please book for this activity using the links available below.
