Shaping the NHS Health Check programme

The public health team, in collaboration with Healthy Dialogues, are carrying out a review of a NHS Health Check programme, to gain views and experiences of the current programme, and to understand how it is being used by eligible residents.

An NHS Health Check is a free check-up for people aged 40 to 74 years, that do not have pre-existing health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure. The check-up assesses your risk of developing certain health conditions, can help spot early signs of disease and gives you the opportunity to discuss how you can reduce your risk with a health professional.

If you are eligible for an NHS Health Check, whether you have had one or not, the team would like to hear from you! There are two ways to participate:

Complete the short survey that will take no longer than 5 minutes to complete. The survey is open until 5pm Monday, 31 July.

Alternatively, if you would like to speak with us, Sign up for a focus group: focus groups are available on the following dates and will last approximately one hour

  • Monday, 26 June at 6pm
  • Wednesday, 12 July at 10am
  • Tuesday, 5 September at 2pm.

Your input will support the development of future services.

Anyone who needs help completing the survey, would like the survey in a different format, or has questions about the project, please contact rebecca@healthydialogues.co.uk
