Pre-school Vaccinations
Is Your Child School Ready? Don’t Forget Their Pre-School Vaccinations

As families prepare for the exciting milestone of starting school this September, it’s important to make sure children are protected against serious infectious diseases by being up to date with their vaccinations.
One of the most important checks is ensuring your child has received both doses of the MMRV vaccine, which protects against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox.
Measles is highly contagious and can lead to serious complications, particularly in young children. Having both doses of the vaccine provides the best protection and helps to prevent outbreaks in schools and the wider community.
If you’re unsure whether your child has received both doses, you can check their Red Book, the NHS App, or contact your GP practice. If any vaccinations have been missed, it’s never too late to catch up.
Starting school is a big step. Ensuring your child’s vaccinations are up to date is one of the simplest ways to help keep them healthy, protected, and ready to learn.
